Shares For Good

Inspired by the highly successful ShareGift programme in the United Kingdom, partners Goldman Sachs JBWere, NZX and The Robin Hood Foundation joined together in 2006 to make a similar concept available in New Zealand.

Throughout New Zealand there are many shareholders who for one reason or another own just a few shares that are virtually impossible to divest. The majority of these small holdings would cost more to sell than they are worth.

Such shareholders may find it a nuisance to receive annual reports, tiny dividends and other documents for shares they often no longer want, yet cannot find a cost effective way to sell. Together they amount to a very large quantity of unwanted shares that if sold collectively could make a very real difference to charities in New Zealand.

Find out how easy now at sharesforgood.org.nz.

Ad Aid

In the last 60 years Ad Council America has given a voice to hundreds of non profits with a current value of US$1.8 billion a year.

Taking the best of their experience (and with their blessing), we plan to do the same here. Just imagine clicking onto a website that offers communications campaigns for non profits who need to get their message out.

Services run from "Branding 101" walkthroughs, to help get the name and proposition clearly communicated - right through to television, radio and print campaigns. And like the American model, each completed campaign will be showcased to media owners to run in available space.

If you like the sound of this, you can play a part in making this happen. We'll be looking for corporate volunteers to assist non profits in tackling a creative brief document for advertising agencies and colleges.

If you're a non profit, we'll be waiting you can profile your communications needs by filling out a client briefing sheet, which we will showcase to every advertising agency and college in the country. Visit adaid.org.nz now.

 The 2005 Marketing awards

Robin Hood's 2005 Annual Marketing Awards are conducted in conjunction with Marketing Magazine.

The Robin Hood Integration award
TO:Telecom Directories - for what's up

They activated screen saver campaigns, team projects and smart billboards that hit the social message home in instant, helped with promotional material, and inspiringly gave the cause accessibility right on the cover of the phone book! Telecom's involvement doubled the number of calls made, to 1000 a day.  That's  integration if nothing is. This winner has  kicked what its stands for right out of the silo. We gave them big brownie points for that.

The Robin Hood Innovation award
To: AUT and  Vodafone - for: skills-exchange.org.nz

This is a great example of a leading organization deciding to invest to enable tens of thousands to volunteer to what is of the most value - skills.

AUT has spent the past nine months developing a volunteering site that took the experience of the global best and then added to it.
